Tune to Your Frequency First, Then Hear Your Own Song — Why Can't You Find Your Passion?
What I See in Indian Astrology Charts: A Generation That Has Lost Its Voice
In my work as an Indian astrology consultant, one question comes up again and again — so often it feels like the defining confusion of this generation:
"I don't know what I like."
They sit across from me, their birth chart spread open, each planet in its place, every one of them telling the story of this soul's unique frequency and gifts. But when I ask, "What is something you do where you completely lose track of time?" — they go blank. Not because they can't remember, but because they have never truly asked themselves that question.
The Legacy of the Industrial Age: You Were Trained Not to Stand Out
What kind of era did we grow up in? One that taught us from childhood to "sit still, obey, and follow instructions." One that encouraged us to meet our parents' expectations, our teachers' standards, and society's frameworks — but where no one ever asked: "How do you feel?"
The industrial age needed uniform, interchangeable parts. Unique souls were seen as troublesome and non-conforming. So we were smoothed down and disciplined, taught "don't be too different," "don't stand out," "everyone does it this way, so should you."
I grew up in exactly that environment. Raised by my grandmother, whose greatest wish was for me to pass the civil service exam and live a quiet, stable life. And I was an obedient child — how could I not be, after everything she did for me?
Yet at that crossroads in my life, a very small voice rose up through the noise. I chose mathematics, went on to study operations management, and eventually became a software engineer. That wasn't the life my grandmother had imagined for me — but it was the life I truly wanted to live.
That was the first time I felt it: only after breaking through all those "shoulds" could I finally hear my own channel.
But I know not everyone gets the chance to catch that faint signal at the critical moment. Because most people's radios have been tuned to someone else's station for so long — so long that they've come to believe that is their frequency.
So when someone finally tells you, "Go find your passion!" — you look around in confusion. If you can't even tell whether you're happy or sad today, how are you supposed to find what you love?
When Heart and Mouth Don't Match: A Radio Tuned to the Wrong Station
In consultations, I often use this analogy:
Imagine you have a radio, and you want to hear a song. That song is always playing — the station has never stopped broadcasting. But your frequency isn't aligned, and no matter how much you turn the dial, all you get is static — harsh, blurry, broken noise.
It's not that there's no song for you. You just haven't found the right station.
This "mistuned radio" is the state of living with your heart and mouth out of alignment.
What you feel inside and what you say outside are two different things. You feel uncomfortable inside, but you say "I'm fine." You don't want to go, but your body is already on the way. Your inner and outer self are constantly broadcasting different frequencies, interfering with each other — like a radio stuck between two stations, unable to clearly receive either one.
In this state, when you go searching for your interests, what you find will always be: what others think is good, what others think has a future, what everyone else is doing. Because your own channel has no signal, you can only listen to someone else's station.
You try everything, and still feel: "I still don't love any of it — why is finding a passion so hard?"
It's not hard. It's that you were never tuned to your own frequency in the first place.
Reading Your "Original Frequency" in the Birth Chart
Indian astrology holds deep value in this area because the birth chart reveals the blueprint your soul brought into this lifetime — your original factory frequency.
Everyone's 5th house (the house of creativity and passion) and 10th house (the career house) hold different planetary configurations, each pointing toward a unique path of gifts. Some people have Mars placed in the position of craft and making things with their hands. Others have Venus pointing toward art and aesthetics. Some have Mercury burning bright in the realm of writing and communication.
These frequencies have been broadcasting since the moment you were born. They have never stopped.
But when a person has lived in a state of inner and outer misalignment for a long time, no matter how clearly the chart is written, they simply cannot "receive" it. Like that mistuned radio — the station is playing your song, but all you hear is static.
The Tuning Process: A Practice of Alignment
So how do you tune in?
The first step is surprisingly simple — start being honest with yourself.
Begin with the smallest things. When someone asks, "How are you today?" — pause. Actually feel into it. If you're not okay, admit it. No performing, no smoothing things over, no making others comfortable.
This isn't selfishness. This is calibration.
When what you feel inside and what you say outside begin to match, your radio slowly starts to turn. The static decreases. The signal becomes clearer. You'll notice something remarkable: you gradually begin to know what you like and what you don't.
The things you assumed "no one could possibly enjoy" — you start to admit that you actually do. The things you thought you "should like" — you find the courage to say: actually, I feel nothing.
This is the power of awareness. When the frequency is aligned, you don't have to strain to find anything. The song finds its way to you.
When You're Aware, Your Place Naturally Emerges
I've observed an interesting pattern in consultations: when a person begins practicing inner-outer alignment — when they're willing to notice their true feelings — they find their place remarkably quickly.
Not because the birth chart suddenly changed, but because their frequency finally aligned, and they received the signal that was always broadcasting.
The gifts that were always there, the unique frequency the soul carried in — they don't need to be invented. They only need to be received.
And to receive them, you first need to tune your radio.
Sometimes, Leaving Is the Best Way to Tune In
There's one more thing I want to say honestly: sometimes tuning in requires not just inner practice, but a physical act of leaving.
Leaving the environment that told you "no" since childhood. Leaving the relationships where you learned to suppress yourself habitually. Leaving the survival pattern you've been running automatically for twenty-some years.
Why? Because your surrounding environment acts like a powerful source of signal interference. When you stay inside those old frequencies, no matter how much you turn the dial, what comes through is still that same familiar static.
This isn't running away. It's giving yourself a space free of interference — so your frequency can settle, and you can finally hear the channel that truly belongs to you.
That's the path I walked myself. I left the familiar environment, stepped into an entirely new space, and only then finally heard the signal that had always been broadcasting — the self that had never been received.
To Everyone Still Caught in the Static
If you're currently feeling like you "can't find your interests" or "don't know what you want" — I want to say this to you:
This is not your fault. It is the imprint this era has left on you. But it is not your destiny.
Don't rush to find your passion just yet. First, find your way back to yourself.
Practice alignment. Let your inside and outside say the same thing. Allow your emotions — joy, anger, sadness, happiness — to exist genuinely.
Tune your frequency first.
When your radio is properly tuned, you'll discover: your song has been playing all along.
And your birth chart already has your unique channel set and waiting for you.
The next time the same client comes back for a consultation and I ask, "How have you been lately?" — I hope to hear not just "fine" as a way of brushing past the question, but something real: "I think this question is terrible" or "I'm actually doing well" or "I'm not doing well" — or even just sharing what's truly going on.
Not just "fine" and moving on.
